Cara Townsend Dohner

Cara Townsend Dohner has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Cara is currently the Regional Director of Community Relations at Vaya Health since December 2021, and prior to that, they worked as the Regional Director at Cardinal Innovations Healthcare starting in April 2021. From 2005 to 2021, they held the position of Government Affairs Consultant at Townsend Enterprises where they consulted for corporate and specialty organizations and communicated with federal and state legislators on business development and training initiatives. Cara has also worked as a Partnership Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce from February 2019 to October 2020 and as a Policy Analyst at the North Carolina Office of the Governor from October 2014 to May 2016. Additionally, they have experience working at the Office of George W. Bush, Grayling USA (formerly Dutko Worldwide), and the U.S. House of Representatives in various roles.

Cara Townsend Dohner obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communications from William Jewell College from 1995 to 1999. In 2011, they completed the Political Leaders Program at the University of Virginia, Sorensen Institute, where they focused on policy, ethics, and non-partisan politics. Cara continued their education at Liberty University from 2018 to 2021, earning a Master's degree in International Public Policy.
