Matthew Johnson

Matthew Johnson has a diverse work experience in various industries including healthcare, technology, and research. Matthew is currently working as the Director of Industry & Health Innovation at Vector Institute, where they lead the development and management of corporate relationships with leading AI companies such as Google, NVIDIA, and Shopify. Matthew is responsible for advancing their understanding and adoption of machine learning and deep learning methods. Prior to that, Matthew worked as the Vice President of Business Development at Bloom Burton & Co., where they played a key role in driving business growth and development. Matthew has also held various roles at Ontario Centres of Excellence, Ontario Genomics Institute, Xceed Molecular, and Genomics Research Centre at Griffith University. Matthew's expertise lies in innovation procurement, commercialization, research program management, and team leadership. Matthew is also actively involved in the industry as a member of the Seed Fund Investment Committee at McMaster University and the Health Innovation Advisory Committee at Alberta Innovates.

Matthew Johnson attended McMaster University from 1997 to 2003, where they obtained a h.B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Biology.
