WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

The Accounting Specialist performs day-to-day accounts payable and receivable functions.  Qualified applicants must be eligible to work in Singapore without a permit or pass.  Velocity does not have the ability to sponsor ineligible applicants.

Responsibilities

• Process and record payments to suppliers and service providers
• Ensure that invoices are paid within stated terms
• Maintain accounts receivable records

Essential Functions

• Responsible for check runs and wire transfer.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and correcting problem payables.
• Maintaining AP aging and ensure invoices are posted for delivered parts.
• Responsible for AMEX payment, posting and GL entries.
• Contact customers for timely payments and collections on past due accounts (if any).
• Manage and check references for new customers.
• Work with customers and Sales Representatives to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Override customer credit hold; work with Sales to resolve credit issues.
• Process Customer RMAs and credits.
• Enter, apply and post customer payment from checks, wire payments.
• Responsible for duties and obligations that may arise from time to time and as requested from company’s management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Min. Diploma or equivalent (eg.ACCA)
• Experience: 1-2 years progressive experience in Accounting

Knowledge

• Computer literate
• Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
