We are looking for an Intercompany Accountant who can deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes to the Finance and Accounting department.

What will you be doing?

The Intercompany Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions generally related to intercompany accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting. The Intercompany Accountant will collaborate internally to meet organizational objectives and deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes. The ideal candidate will be able to identify areas for process improvement and deliver solutions for simplification.  

Your main areas of responsibilities will be:

  • Process and record intercompany invoices and payments
  • Reconcile intercompany general ledger accounts
  • Review and resolve intercompany issues (root cause analysis)
  • Manage intercompany process while ensuring compliance with legal agreements and policies (ie.Transfer Pricing)

In addition, you will also be expected to:

  • Prepare intercompany billings while ensuring that supporting documentation provides sufficient detail.
  • Transact intercompany payments within banking platform and record in accounting system.
  • Calculate, prepare, and record journal entries related to intercompany activity.
  • Ensure intercompany transactions are recorded in accordance with reporting deadlines.
  • Work closely with Finance contacts in charge of statutory accounting to ensure compliance with GAAP and local statutory policies (ie. IFRS)
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts receivable and payable balances including obtaining explanations, analyzing variances, and resolving out of balance issues.
  • Complete month end, quarter end and year end close processes related to intercompany activities within specified timelines.
  • Respond to audit and tax inquiries related to intercompany transactions.
  • Perform complex analytical analysis and prepare accounting related reports.
  • Manage data integrity in preparation of financial information related to intercompany transactions to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and accessibility.
  • Comply with recordkeeping policies and procedures.
  • Document intercompany policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and ensure compliance with documented intercompany policies and procedures.
  • Identify and propose process improvements for intercompany transactions and drive implementation across entities.
  • Maintain strong internal controls during the performance of intercompany accounting activities.

Education, Experience, Skills and Traits

Required Education

  • 4-year college degree in Accounting focused on US GAAP

Preferred Education

  • Advanced degree and/or active CPA license

Required Experience

  • 3+ years intercompany accounting experience

Preferred Experience

  • Progressive experience in global companies of 100+ employees
  • Experience with a multi-national organization

Required Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures, principles, and GAAP standards
  • Intercompany accounting
  • Computer literate
  • Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong knowledge of operational accounting practices
  • Working knowledge of applicable local and regional taxes

Desired Skills
