Alline Pacheco

Senior Scientist, Editing & Discovery at Verve Therapeutics

Alline Pacheco is a senior scientist at Verve Therapeutics with expertise in cell-based assays and CRISPR/Cas9 screening. She brings 8 years of research experience both in academia and industry, in the fields of infectious diseases, microbiome, metabolism, and immuno-oncology. Dr. Pacheco has authored and co-authored a dozen publications. Prior to joining Verve, she has held positions at Evelo Biosciences and more recently, at Intellia Therapeutics, where she developed a platform for CRISPR screening in primary cells, to help advance ex-vivo gene editing programs. Dr. Pacheco received a Ph.D. in molecular microbiology from UT Southwestern where she discovered a fucose sensing system that connected pathogen, microbiota and the host during intestinal infection. She completed post-doctoral training at UC Davis, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, interrogating host-microbe interactions using transcriptomics, metabolomics and CRISPR/Cas9 screening approaches.
