Sonny Nguyen P.e.

Sonny Nguyen, P.E. has a strong background in transmission and interconnection engineering with experience in the renewable energy and utility sectors. Sonny currently serves as the Director of Transmission and Interconnection at Vesper Energy since March 2022. Previously, Sonny worked at Urban Grid Solar as a Manager of Transmission and an Interconnection Engineer for Solar + Storage from August 2020 to March 2022. Prior to that, they were a Transmission and Interconnection Engineer for Battery Energy Storage at Plus Power from August 2019 to July 2020. Sonny also worked as a Transmission Planning Engineer at Oncor Electric Delivery from January 2012 to August 2019, where they gained extensive expertise in transmission assessments and grid interconnections. Sonny began their career as an Electrical Engineer Intern at Arizona Public Service (APS) in June 2010.

Sonny Nguyen, P.E. completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, where they studied from 2008 to 2011. Prior to attending Texas A&M, Sonny Nguyen attended Tarrant County College from 2006 to 2008, although no degree or field of study was specified during this time period. Sonny Nguyen has also obtained additional certifications, including becoming a Professional Engineer (PE) through the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in May 2019 and achieving the status of Engineer-In-Training through the Texas Board of Professional Engineers in January 2013.
