Fabian David Nonis

Supervisor/Lead Senior Scientist in Cellular and Molecular Biology, focused on Gene Editing Projects at ViaCyte

Fabian David Nonis has extensive experience in cellular and molecular biology, with a focus on gene editing projects. Fabian David is currently working as a Supervisor/Lead Senior Scientist at ViaCyte, where they lead a team in utilizing human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and embryonic stem cells (ESCs) for gene editing. Fabian David is proficient in CRISPR-based genome editing and clone screening. Previously, Fabian worked as a Supervisor/Lead Scientist at Tanabe Research Laboratories U.S.A, Inc., overseeing the molecular biology group and developing monoclonal antibodies and soluble proteins for cancer treatment. Fabian David also has experience as a Molecular Biology Scientist/Consultant for their own business and as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Cedars-Sinai, where they differentiated iPSCs into cortical neurons and used them to model neurodegenerative diseases. Fabian has also worked as a Consultant/Teacher and as a Postdoc Fellow at UC San Diego, investigating female fertility and granulosa cell tumor formation. Fabian David began their career as a PhD student at Goethe University, where they studied ataxin-2 in spinocerebellar ataxia-2 and discovered its role in endocytosis of growth factors. Fabian's work experience also includes being an Undergraduate Student Trainee at Universidad Nacional de Cordoba, where they investigated protein degradation in the rat brain.

Fabian David Nonis completed their education in a sequential manner, beginning with their studies at Universidad Nacional de Córdoba from 1997 to 2002. During this time, they obtained a degree in Biology with a specialization in Molecular Biology. Subsequently, they pursued their academic goals further by enrolling in Goethe University Frankfurt from 2004 to 2008. At this institution, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the fields of Neuroscience and Molecular Biology.
