Jacob Bieker

Jacob Prince-Bieker is a seasoned machine learning engineer with extensive experience in climate-related technologies and data analysis. Currently serving as the Senior Machine Learning Engineer at VIDA since May 2024, Jacob previously held the position of Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer at Open Climate Fix, where responsibilities included heading the Open Data initiatives and mentoring junior team members while developing machine learning models for solar power forecasting. Jacob's career includes roles at Scale AI, Leiden University, Google, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and various research positions during undergraduate studies, all contributing to a strong foundation in machine learning, data processing, and scientific research. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Astronomy and Data Science from Leiden University and a Bachelor's degree in Physics and Computer Information Science from the University of Oregon.
