Gerry Hogue

Chairman, President & CEO at VieCure

Gerry is the founder of VieCure, and presently serves as its President & CEO. He has spent many years working in the field of enabling technologies for cancer care, and is excited to now be leading the charge in genomics-based, personalized medicine that empowers cancer patients and their families.

Prior to the creation of VieCure, Gerry worked in various capacities with Elekta, Inc., a global provider of medical devices for treatment of cancer and brain disorders, culminating in his appointment as Senior Vice President & General Manager. In this capacity, he was responsible for all of Elekta’s North American operations, and served on its Global Management Committee.

Prior to his work with Elekta, in 1993, Gerry founded OpTx Corporation, a company that created the world’s first oncology-specific electronic medical record and decision support systems. As President & CEO, he raised more than $35M in capital and developed the company into an internationally respected healthcare services and technology company before its eventual sale to Varian Medical Systems, itself a leading supplier of medical devices for radiation therapy in the oncology community. In recognition of his work with OpTx, Gerry was awarded the Rocky Mountain Region’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2001.

Gerry was previously a Partner with Price Waterhouse Management Consultants, responsible for its IT and Business Transformation practice areas in Canada’s Northwest Region, and before that worked with Alberta Treasury Board where he managed development, implementation and maintenance of large information systems.

When not working, Gerry likes to spend time with family in Colorado’s beautiful Rocky Mountains. He is also a Masters level coach with USA Hockey, and has positively influenced the lives of countless young athletes through many years spent coaching in the youth ranks.
