Director And Global Team Lead, Health Systems; Immunization Lead at VillageReach

Mariam Zameer has several years of experience in the field of health systems and program management. Mariam currently holds the position of Director and Global Team Lead, Health Systems at VillageReach, where they lead the Health Systems Team and focuses on improving routine immunization for under-immunized children in multiple countries. Prior to this, they worked as a Team Lead, Health Systems at VillageReach, where they led the Immunization portfolio and incubated new technical teams. Before joining VillageReach, Mariam worked as an Associate Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where they managed the Primary Health Care Performance Initiative and promoted south-south learning for Universal Health Coverage. Mariam also has experience working with organizations such as PATH, The World Bank, and University of Washington. Earlier in their career, Mariam served as a Program Manager at the Network of Organizations Working for People with Disabilities (NOWPDP) and held various research and teaching roles. Mariam has a strong background in strategic planning, project management, and program evaluation.

Mariam Zameer started their education journey in 2004 when they enrolled at Lahore University of Management Sciences. Mariam pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics and completed their studies in 2008.

In 2012, Mariam took a step further in their academic journey and joined the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Washington. There, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Administration (MPA) with a focus on International Development. Mariam successfully completed their studies in 2014.

In order to enhance their skills and broaden their knowledge, Mariam obtained additional certifications. In June 2014, they acquired a certification in International Development Policy and Management from the University of Washington. Furthermore, in February 2020, they obtained a certification in Contemporary Supply Chain Principles from The Institute of Supply Chain Development.

Currently, Mariam Zameer is pursuing a Doctorate at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London. Mariam has been engaged in this doctoral program since 2020, with a focus on Public Health.
