Knut Arvidsson

Knut Arvidsson has over 30 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Knut began their career in 1991 as a production worker at WesternGeco, where they were involved in tasks such as soldering, assembly, and electronics. Knut then worked as a social worker at Lindås kommune from 1991 to 1996.

In 1992, they joined Western as a test technician, responsible for executing production testing and non-standard testing. During this time, they also completed a two-year technical college program in Process Technology.

Moving back to WesternGeco in 1996, Knut held the position of Senior Production Supervisor, overseeing the day-to-day production test activity and performing hands-on work and maintenance on test equipment. From 1997 to 2001, they worked as a Manufacturing Engineer, responsible for building prototypes for new seismic streamers and conducting testing.

Knut then transitioned to a role as a Test System Developer from 2001 to 2007 before becoming a Team Leader for manufacturing test development in 2007. In this role, they were the main point of contact for any test system issues and oversaw internal and third-party suppliers.

In 2010, Knut joined Schlumberger as a Team Leader for Manufacturing Technology (Test Systems), where they played a key role in setting up a new manufacturing plant for WesternGeco. Knut was responsible for preparing RFQs, reviewing quotes, and following up on construction work.

Returning to WesternGeco in 2014, Knut served as the Test Systems Manager, managing a team of test system developers based in Asker, Norway, and initially managing a team in Penang, Malaysia. Knut was responsible for planning based on scrum methodologies.

From 2016 to 2021, Knut worked at Vizrt as a Development Team Lead and Senior System Engineer. Knut also served as a Scrum Master during this time. In these roles, they led development teams and was involved in system engineering and scrum implementation.

Most recently, Knut joined Vimond Media Solutions in 2021. Knut initially served as a Product Manager before being promoted to the position of Head of Technology in November 2022.
