Brett Malone

Brett Malone has an extensive and diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries. Brett currently serves as the President of VT Corporate Research Center since June 2020. Prior to this, Brett founded and served as the CEO of TopGear Consulting, where they undertook independent consulting projects for various industries for 15 years. Brett has consistently created value for their clients by translating innovative technologies into profitable markets.

Brett has also held senior positions in companies such as Freenome, Flagship Biosciences, Inc., HepQuant, Techulon Inc., Intrexon Corporation, and Phoenix Integration, an Ansys Company. At Freenome, they worked as a Senior Development Executive from April 2018 to June 2020. In Flagship Biosciences, Inc., they held the role of Executive Vice President, Clinical Diagnostics from January 2017 to January 2020.

Brett served as the Chief Commercial Officer at HepQuant from January 2015 to May 2017, where they were responsible for commercializing NASH diagnostics for liver disease. At Techulon Inc., they served as the Chief Executive Officer from June 2009 to December 2015, focusing on defeating drug-resistant bacterial infections through novel targeted peptides.

In Intrexon Corporation, Brett held the position of Chief Operating Officer / Chief Information Officer from August 2006 to July 2009. Brett played a crucial role in the company's financing, compliance, and infrastructure build-out, leading to its subsequent IPO in 2013.

Brett also co-founded and served as CEO of Phoenix Integration, an Ansys Company, from February 1996 to August 2006. Phoenix Integration was an enterprise software firm catering to top federal and private clients worldwide. Brett successfully negotiated and closed major enterprise deals with renowned corporate customers and later achieved a successful exit in 2006.

Brett Malone obtained their Ph.D. in Engineering from Virginia Tech, where they studied from 1985 to 1995.
