The Director of IT position is a critical role within the People team at Virta, reporting directly to the Chief People Officer. Here, you’ll have the challenge and opportunity to define the strategic direction of a team at the forefront of integrating technology and digital solutions into the heart of our healthcare mission. This role not only demands a high level of technical expertise but also requires a visionary approach to how IT can empower and enhance the effectiveness of our workforce. You’ll play a pivotal role in translating our team’s biggest challenges into comprehensive solutions, ensuring those solutions align with our organizational goals, and upholding our commitment to security and privacy as we build.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous improvement and exceptional employee support.
  • Design and implement IT strategies that drive the company's mission and growth objectives forward while ensuring a scalable and secure infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with the security team to uphold and enhance data privacy and security measures, adhering to HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2 and other requirements.
  • Work closely with other technical teams across Virta (ex Engineering, Product etc.) to understand and address issues that arise across our technical stack , ensuring the right expertise is tapped for effective problem resolution.
  • Engage with non-technical clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating technical concepts and driving adoption of IT initiatives that support business goals. It’s critical that the person in this role connects deeply with the human impact of their IT strategy and can bring this to bear in working with the team.
  • Partner with the Chief People Officer and other members of the People leadership team to integrate IT strategies with overall business and people strategies, enhancing operational excellence and employee experience.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and healthcare industry trends to drive innovation and competitive advantage.

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta we expect you will do the following:

  • Establish strong relationships with the security team, engineering and product teams along with leadership across other sizable departments to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of Virta’s current IT  roadmap, identifying areas for improvement and innovation. Outlining key process improvements, initiatives, milestones, and performance metrics that we should prioritize in the near term.
  • Begin implementing priority IT process improvements, demonstrating early wins and setting the stage for long-term success.
  • Foster a culture of learning and development within the IT team, aligning skillsets with the strategic needs of the business.

Must-Haves

  • Proven experience leading IT teams in a high-growth environment, preferably in the healthcare or digital health sector.
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate with non-technical and technical stakeholders and partners alike, expertly translating IT strategies into tangible business value.
  • Strong technical acumen, with a background in designing and implementing complex IT infrastructures.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage, motivate, and mentor a diverse team.
  • Deep understanding of data privacy and security best practices, particularly in a healthcare context.

Virta Health  has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based  on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
