Shaminie Athinarayanan

Shaminie Athinarayanan, PhD has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Shaminie currently works at Virta Health as an Associate Director of Clinical Research after previously serving as a Clinical Research Scientist. Prior to joining Virta Health, they were a Doctoral Candidate and Doctoral Student at Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology in Purdue University. Shaminie also had a role as a Diagnostic Associate at Purdue University. In addition, they worked as a Consultant DNA Technical Assessor/Auditor at the National Forensic Science Technology Center. Shaminie was a member of the NDIS Audit Review Panel and a Certified Technical Assessor at ASCLD/LAB - International Program. Shaminie has also gained teaching experience as a part-time instructor at the Department of Chemistry in Southeast Missouri State University. Shaminie worked as a Criminalist at Missouri State Highway Patrol and a Serologist at Southeast Missouri Regional Crime Laboratory. Earlier in their career, they were a Research Assistant at the Department of Pathology in the University of Malaya.

Shaminie Athinarayanan, PhD, completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the PULse Interdisciplinary Program, specializing in Pharmacogenomics and Metabolic Disease, from Purdue University in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Masters of Medical Science in Cancer Biology and Genetics from Universiti Malaya from 2001 to 2003. Shaminie'seducational journey began with a Bachelors in Biomedical Science, specializing in Medical Science and Biotechnology, also from Universiti Malaya, from 1996 to 1999. Additionally, Shaminie attended SAAS, Kg Kuantan from 1982 to 1990.
