Sophie Thompson

Co-founder at VirtualSpeech

Sophie Thompson is the co-founder of VirtualSpeech, a VR soft skills training platform that combines e-learning with practice in virtual reality. Sophie has been involved with VirtualSpeech since February 2017. In addition, Sophie is the Chair of the XR in Education and Training Advisory Group and an Advisory Board Member for XR Education & Training Advisory Panel at AIXR - The Academy of International Extended Reality since March 2022 and June 2020 respectively. Sophie also serves as an Augmentor Mentor at Digital Catapult since June 2020. Prior to these roles, Sophie worked as a Social Media Consultant and Trainer at JC Social Media in 2018 and as a Social Media Manager at the same company from October 2016 to February 2017. Sophie also completed internships at McCann in August 2016 and at Robert Powell Chartered Surveyors & Estate Agents from August 2013 to September 2013.

Sophie Thompson's education history is as follows:

From 2015 to 2016, Sophie attended the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School, where they obtained a Master's Degree in International Business.

Prior to that, from 2012 to 2015, they studied at the University of Birmingham and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Theology and Religion.

Their high school education was completed at King Edward VI High School for Girls from 2005 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Sophie obtained a certification in Essential Public Speaking from VirtualSpeech in April 2021.
