Akshay Dabholkar

Akshay Dabholkar is an accomplished technology professional with extensive experience in cloud architecture and software engineering. Currently serving as Chief System Architect at Visa since 2024, Dabholkar previously held roles at Alation as a Software Architect, where key contributions included the development of Cloud Foundation Services and the first Cloud Service offering. At Oracle, Dabholkar was a Senior Principal Engineer and a founding member responsible for delivering Oracle’s first Cloud Infrastructure offering. Prior positions include Senior Software Engineer at Nimbula, where enhancements to the private cloud messaging system were made, alongside a doctoral research role at Vanderbilt University's Distributed Object Computing Group. Dabholkar also has experience as a Research Engineer with the National Science Foundation, Product Development Engineer at NTT DATA, and an undergraduate engineering role at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
