Visual Data Media Services provides a full spectrum of both traditional post-production and file mastering, transformation, and storage services, aimed at meeting the skyrocketing demand for digital media fulfillment. Our newly constructed facility is custom designed to support fulfillment of content owners’ broadcast and internet distribution needs.

We currently have a vacancy for a Media Supply Chain Engineer located in West London, England. This is a hybrid working position with a balance of on-site and working from home. 

  

Job Overview 

The Media Supply Chain Engineer plays a key role in supporting the design, development, and maintenance of automated workflows and in streamlining solutions. They assist in the implementation of systems, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with senior engineers to ensure the efficiency and reliability of Media Supply Chain infrastructure. 

Responsibilities

  • Implementation: Assist in the design, development and deployment of new automated workflows and systems.
  • Support: Provide technical support and assistance for digital media workflows and assist with streamlining existing workflows.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Testing: Conduct tests and evaluations of systems to ensure functionality, efficiency, and security.
  • Upgrades and Maintenance: Support regular system upgrades and maintenance activities, over Windows, Linux and Mac.

Skills & Requirements

  • Programming experience, for example in Python, Ruby or Groovy
  • Experience working with APIs and databases.
  • Basic understanding of computers and networking
  • Familiarity with workflow tools and database management
  • Understanding of or interest in digital video and audio formats, codecs, framerates, FFMPEG, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work alone and in a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • A learning mind-set and ability to pick up new skills.
  • Able to execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Approachable, friendly, and able to build rapport.

Experience

  • Experience in the media industry would be valuable.
