Pirooz Behpoor

Manager, Immunohematology Reference Laboratory At Vitalant at Vitalant

Pirooz Behpoor has extensive work experience in the field of immunohematology, transfusion services, and blood banking. Pirooz started their career as a CLS Generalist at Anaheim Memorial Hospital in 1990 and then moved on to work as a Lead CLS and Interim Supervisor at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital. During their time at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, they played a key role in implementing policies and procedures that improved patient care quality and safety.

Pirooz later worked as a CLS Generalist at Hoag Hospital and as a Clinical Instructor at St. Joseph Hospital, where they trained and taught CLS interns and new staff members in all aspects of blood banking. Pirooz also developed training objectives and materials for the CLS intern and staff training program.

Pirooz Behpoor then took on the role of Blood Bank Supervisor at Whittier Hospital, where they oversaw technical operations in the blood bank department. Pirooz continued their career as Transfusion Service Supervisor at Centinela Hospital Medical Center and then returned to St. Francis Medical Center as a Blood Bank Supervisor.

In 2016, Pirooz Behpoor joined Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children's) as a Blood Bank Supervisor, responsible for managing the blood bank operations. Afterward, they transitioned to the role of Transfusion Service Supervisor at St. Francis Medical Center.
