Computer Vision Research Engineer at Vivacity Labs

Sterling Ramroach has a long and varied work experience. Sterling began their career in 2012 as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. In 2013, they took on the role of Software Engineer at Doubles Tycoon and Lead Software Engineer at QuickSellTT. In 2015, they joined the Seismic Research Center, UWI St. Augustine as a Software Engineer, where they developed an Eclipse Rich Client Platform Application. In 2016, they returned to the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus as a Graduate Student Researcher and also took on the role of Teaching Assistant, developing course material and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programming courses. In 2019, they joined DIV Solutions as a Data Scientist, building a recommender system for a bank with more than 600K customers. In 2020, they joined Solgenium as a Data Scientist, developing a data analysis module to identify and extract medically relevant indicators from sleep diaries, smart watches, and smart metre data. In 2021, they joined CRISPR BIOTECH ENGINEERING as a Machine Learning Instructor and VivaCity as a Computer Vision Research Engineer, conducting research and development on a range of convolutional neural network (CNN) architectures and training procedures.

Sterling Ramroach's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Machine Learning from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus from 2016 to 2021, a Master of Philosophy - MPhil in Computer Science - Information Hiding from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus from 2012 to 2015, a Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus from 2009 to 2012, and attendance at Presentation College San Fernando from 2002 to 2009.
