Niel Starksen

Niel Starksen has had a long and varied career in the medical industry. In 2020, they became the Founder and Board Member of VivaLNK Medical USA. From 2017 to present, they have served as an Executive Advisor for Well Advised and an Advisor for Cambridge Therapeutics. From 2007-2017, they were the Director of the Board of Governors at Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine. Niel also served as the Founder, President, CEO/Director of Guided Delivery Systems, Inc. (now Ancora Heart) from 2002-2007.

Niel Starksen obtained their Bachelor of Science from UC Irvine. Niel then attended The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine - MD. After that, they completed their Internal Medicine Residency Program at Harvard Medical School from 1982 to 1985. During this time, they also obtained their Diplomate from the American Board of Internal Medicine and their Fellow from the American College of Cardiology. Finally, they completed their Cardiovascular Disease Residency and Interventional Cardiology Residency at the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine from 1985 to 1989.
