Hovanes Gasparian

Hovanes Gasparian has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries and roles.

From 2012 to 2017, Gasparian worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Southern California, where they contributed to the publication of a paper on categorical funding on the Center for American Progress' website and authored two articles in the Encyclopedia of Education Finance and Policy.

In 2018, Gasparian interned as a Data Science Intern at the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST), gaining practical experience in the field.

In 2019, Gasparian held two positions concurrently. Hovanes worked as a Data Scientist Intern at SPIDR Tech, where they further developed their skills in data science. Additionally, they joined General Assembly as a Data Science Instructor - Local Lead in November 2019 and was later promoted to the position of Lead Data Science Instructor in December 2020, where they trained and mentored students in data science.

Currently, Gasparian holds the role of Staff Machine Learning Engineer at VIZIO since February 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at VIZIO from July 2022 to February 2023 and as a Machine Learning Engineer from March 2021 to July 2022.

Hovanes Gasparian completed their undergraduate studies from 2005 to 2009 at the University of California, Berkeley, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Political Economy. From 2012 to 2014, they pursued further education at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, where they obtained a Master of Public Policy degree with a focus on Public Policy Analysis. In 2019, Hovanes attended General Assembly for a Data Science Immersive (DSI) program, enhancing their skills in the field of Data Science.
