Dan McDermott has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Dan most recently worked as the CMO at Vouris, where they provided strategic sales advisory for early-stage startups. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Growth at CopywritingCourse.com, where they helped members grow their businesses through better content, copywriting, and marketing/sales strategies. In addition, Dan worked as a Consultant at Stick and Grow, specializing in copywriting and technical writing training. Dan also served as a Grant writer for UNRWA and various natural resource consultancies. As a Co-Founder at Growth Models, Dan modeled the flywheels used by top digital brands to adapt and grow their businesses. Previously, they worked as a Restaurant Consultant at Guest Getter, focusing on bringing in first-time diners and turning them into regulars. Dan also worked as an Energy Markets and Policy Analyst at Remote Energy Solutions, a Writer at Jordan Business Magazine, a Project Officer at the United Nations, and an Intern to the Executive Director at the American Arab Anti Discrimination Committee (ADC).

Dan McDermott received their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in International Relations from Tufts University, where they attended from 2003 to 2007. Dan then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Public Policy at UCL, attending from 2007 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, Dan McDermott also obtained certifications in Email Marketing and Content Marketing from HubSpot Academy in January 2019 and March 2018 respectively.
