Tim is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Environmental Performance at Walker Industries Holdings Limited. Prior to this role, they held the position of Vice President of Environmental Performance at the same company. In their positions at Walker Industries, Tim has been responsible for various activities including policy analysis and advocacy, regulatory monitoring and integration, government and stakeholder relations, employee engagement and training, corporate sustainability and reporting, and mentoring a team of professionals.

Before joining Walker Industries, Tim worked at Waste Management as the Director of Environmental Affairs, where they were responsible for environmental compliance, regulatory tracking and analysis, industry and company advocacy, government and stakeholder relations, corporate sustainability, and overseeing multiple facilities.

Prior to their tenure at Waste Management, Tim worked at AECOM as the Manager of Environmental Management and Waste Services, where they managed environmental projects and waste services.

Earlier in their career, Tim held the position of Senior Planner at DPRA, where they managed strategic planning, public consultation, environmental planning, and stakeholder liaison.

Tim started their career at Dillon Consulting Limited and Conlin Engineering as a Planner, where they were involved in land use planning, public consultation, environmental planning, and stakeholder liaison.

Tim Murphy earned a Bachelors degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo in the years 1980 to 1984. Tim then pursued a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Queen's University from 1985 to 1987. Tim also obtained a Certificate in Community Planning from Oxford Brookes University in 1983 and 1984. In 2017 to 2019, they completed an Executive Management Certificate in Strategic Management from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Alongside their education, Tim Murphy also obtained the certification of Registered Professional Planner (RPP) from the Ontario Professional Planners Institute in 1987.
