Position Summary:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing communications strategies and activities to support our energy efficiency efforts with utility and government clients. On a daily basis, we help our clients and communities use less energy, save money and help the environment through the development, implementation and refinement of sound marketing and outreach initiatives. We are looking for someone who is as passionate about our work as we are and has the skills and attitude to be successful.

This position will interface closely with program managers, operations, outreach teams and vendor partners.  This dynamic multifunctional position involves elements of marketing, business development, and customer engagement.  In this role you will manage the launch and day-to-day execution of marketing and incentive partnerships with our partners.  The Marketing Manager works closely with internal and external resources and will be responsible for empowering sales and operations with relevant marketing activities to engage prospects, creating awareness in the community and assisting the client reach their goals. 

Job Description

Position Duties and Responsibilities:  This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Embrace and operate within our core values.
  • Work directly with the client to supervise, develop, and implement marketing and communications plans to educate customers about energy efficiency and drive participation in energy efficiency programs.
  • Work with the client and subcontractors to develop on- and offline-marketing materials including websites, direct mailers, brochures, testimonials, technical fact sheets, incentive applications forms, email and direct mail campaigns, trade ally newsletters, advertising campaigns, posters, display materials, etc.
  • Manage all elements of assigned marketing projects, including subcontractors, scheduling, media buying, copy writing, social media, editing, graphic design, website content, email blasts, and search engine marketing (S.E.M.).
  • Lead the creation of compelling and culturally competent marketing materials for all clientele content
  • Manage marketing budget.
  • Prepare monthly reports on results of the marketing program.
  • Work with client to develop, propose, and implement vertical marketing and advertising campaigns, coordinating the deployment of integrated outreach campaigns across broadcast, print, online, social media, events, etc.
  • Provide media relations support, including writing press releases, working with client and media contacts, building relationships with local press, and monitoring and flagging important news stories and trends.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field of study from an accredited college, or equivalent work experience.
    • Minimum of 7+ years of experience working in a marketing, advertising, public relations agency or consulting environment, in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a marketing, advertising, public relations agency or consulting environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience representing diverse cultures in marketing projects and campaigns.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing marketing communication plans, with the ability to manage and execute public relations, collateral development, advertising, and social media projects.
  • Proficient use of computer and online tools, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and social networking sites.
  • Must be available for some client-required evening or weekend appointments.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Experience with copy writing, editing, and proofreading, strongly preferred.
  • Manage marketing budget, strongly preferred.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10% locally and in the Midwest region.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Noise level is typically low to moderate.
