Washington and Lee University
Nicholas Barber currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Washington and Lee University, a tenure-track position responsible for teaching Earth Materials and other solid earth courses since July 2023. Prior to this role, Nicholas worked as a Wares Postdoctoral Research Fellow at McGill University from September 2022 to July 2023. Nicholas completed a PhD in Earth Science with a focus on volcanology at the University of Cambridge between September 2018 and September 2022, where the research centered on the processes linking active volcanism to the deposition of valuable metals. Additional experience includes being a Volcanology Research Assistant at Drexel University, a Hollings Intern with NOAA's Pacific Marine Environmental Lab, a Hydrogeology Intern at American Water, and a Watersheds and Systems Ecology Intern at the Academy of Natural Sciences. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geoscience from Drexel University.
