Senior Director of Community Impact & Marketing at Wasson Enterprise

As the Senior Director of Community Impact & Marketing, Betsy focuses on finding ways to leverage her team’s assets to further Wasson Enterprise’s mission of doing well by doing good. Additionally, Betsy supports WE’s portfolio of companies by developing and implementing marketing strategies, and fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Prior to joining Wasson Enterprise, Betsy was the Associate Director of Marketing and Enrollment Management for GEMS World Academy Chicago, part of the largest global independent educational provider organization, GEMS Education. Her central focus was on increasing visibility in Chicagoland, and stewarding relationships with prospective families and students. Before GEMS, Betsy served as the Manager of Community Programs at Presence Health, where she created and cultivated partnerships with local organizations to increase brand awareness and grow market share. Earlier in her career, Betsy was part of the small but mighty Community Affairs team at Walgreens, and worked closely on their philanthropic initiatives supporting Chicago’s civic community as well as national non-profit organizations, through grant fulfillment, partnership activation, employee engagement and disaster relief aid. Her career began at one of Chicago’s most treasured cultural institutions, Lincoln Park Zoo, running their corporate alliances program, where her passion for relationship management began.

Betsy earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration from Western Illinois University and holds a Certificate in Meeting, Convention and Exposition Management from Roosevelt University. As an avid traveler, she’s always looking forward to her next adventure.
