Chris Heller has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Chris started their career at The Atlantic as a Senior Associate Editor from June 2011 to May 2015. From September 2015 to November 2015, they worked as an Assistant Editor at the Smithsonian Institution, where they edited history, arts, and culture stories for Smithsonian magazine's news blog. Following this, they joined Vulture / New York Magazine as Deputy TV Editor from November 2015 to May 2018. At Vulture, they assigned and edited recaps, managed freelance writers, and handled day-to-day editorial work for the TV department. From May 2018 to July 2020, they worked as a Senior Editor at New York Magazine, where they ran Vulture's TV department, contributed to the culture section, and led a team of reporters, critics, and a deputy editor. Currently, Chris is the Editorial Director at WE Codeword, a position they started in April 2021.
