Katya Sotiris

Katya Sotiris, Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of data science and analytics. Katya currently holds the position of SVP, North America Data Science Lead at Weber Shandwick, where they lead data science initiatives across North America, including goal setting, financial and innovation strategy, and solution development. Katya manages stakeholder relationships, including executive leadership, practice leads, finance, legal, and HR, and engages with clients to align solutions with their needs.

Prior to their current role, Katya served as the Chief Member at Chief, a private network designed for senior women leaders to strengthen their leadership journey. Katya joined Chief in November 2021 and completed their tenure in November 2022.

Katya's previous experience includes their role as Chief Data Scientist at SiriusXM, where they built a high-impact data science team and successfully developed data science solutions with significant value. Katya also worked at Nielsen as a Senior Data Scientist, leading model development efforts for various data-driven initiatives and employing statistical, machine learning, and deep learning techniques.

Following this, they attended Columbia University from 2002 to 2003, where they earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Mathematics of Finance. Finally, they joined the University of Maryland for their doctoral studies, specializing in Mathematical Statistics and Probability, leading to their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), which they obtained from 2006 to 2013.
