Ilya Vasilenko

Ilya Vasilenko has extensive work experience in various roles related to compliance, data protection, and risk management. Ilya currently works at wefox as the Global Compliance Officer and Global Data Protection Officer, focusing on improving the insurance industry. Prior to this, Ilya held positions at Starmind and Teralytics, where they worked as a Global Risk & Compliance Officer and Data Protection Officer, ensuring legal compliance and negotiating contracts with customers and vendors. Ilya also led ISO 27001 compliance efforts and managed data privacy and GDPR compliance. Earlier in their career, Ilya worked at Luchsinger Mathematics AG, Avaloq Evolution AG, and ETH juniors in roles such as a board member, software engineer, project manager, and team lead. Ilya has a strong background in technology and has interned at Marc Brandis Strategic Consulting and Avaloq Evolution AG. Throughout their career, Ilya has demonstrated expertise in legal compliance, data protection, contract management, and risk management.

Ilya Vasilenko's education history begins in 1999 when they attended the Rybinsk State Aviation Technological Academy named after P. A. Solovyov, from which they obtained a degree in Natural Language Processing and Information Extraction in 2004. Following this, in 2006, Ilya enrolled at ETH Zürich but did not complete a degree or specify a field of study. In 2018, they obtained the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) certification from The International Association of Privacy Professionals. They further expanded their expertise in privacy management by earning the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification in 2017 and the Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) certification in 2017, both from the same institution. Lastly, Ilya pursued a Master of Advanced Studies in Business Law at Fernfachhochschule Schweiz from 2020 to 2022. In 2014, they also obtained certifications in PRINCE2 Foundation Examination and PRINCE2 Practitioner Examination from APMG-International.
