Carolyne Ngara

Carolyne Ngara is an accomplished researcher and project manager with extensive experience in anthropological and genealogical studies. Currently serving as a Sub-Saharan Genealogical, Anthropological, and Ethnographic Researcher at the American Society of Genealogists, Carolyne leads The Joka Jok Project, focusing on the Luo people of Kenya. In addition, Carolyne is involved with the Foundation for Anthropological Research and serves as Lead Researcher for the Talking Trees Project at Wellcome Trust. Previous roles include Project Manager for the MY SHADOW Project at the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology, Senior Researcher at the Firebird Foundation, Corporate Communication Manager at Open Society Foundations, Journalist & Editor at Ruppertusblatt, and Author for Jarachar Publishers. Carolyne holds multiple degrees, including an M.A. in Anthropology from the Maryknoll Institute of African Studies and a B.A. in Communication Studies from Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg.
