Deborah King

Deborah King currently serves as the Vaccine Research Lead at Wellcome Trust, overseeing initiatives in both Infectious Disease Prevention and the Vaccines Priority Area since 2020. Previously, Deborah held positions at the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative as Scientific Director and Senior Project Manager, managing clinical trials and research collaborations from 2015 to 2020. Deborah's academic experience includes postdoctoral research at Imperial College London and St. George's University of London, focused on HIV immune responses and vaccine development. Deborah earned a PhD in Virology from King's College London and a Bachelor's Degree in Genetics from the University of Wales, Cardiff. Early career experiences include laboratory technician work at Becton Dickinson and a research placement at the National Institute for Medical Research.
