Manuel Portillo has over 13 years of professional experience in the fields of Tax, Corporate Law, and Digital Transformation. In 2019, they took on the role of Corporate Director and Tax for CMI-Corporación Multi Inversiones, a renowned family-owned multilatina company. Manuel is responsible for leading the tax function and reorganizing and rationalizing the group with a holistic approach.
Prior to this, Manuel was a Cofounder at Wembley Studios, a creative design and engineering team specializing in digital transformation in the sport market. Manuel also held the role of Head of International Tax and M&A for Grupo Unicomer/ Unicomer Group for 8 years, where they were responsible for optimizing a sustainable effective tax rate and providing tax advisory and support to regional and corporate business units and departments.
Manuel also has experience as an Entrepreneur at Vitamin Code, an APP and customer engagement development consultancy. Manuel was an Assistant Manager - Transfer Pricing at Deloitte and a Tax Lawyer at PwC. Manuel's first professional role was as a Consulate Assistant at the Consulado de Portugal in 2006.
Manuel Portillo completed a Bachelor's in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad de Salamanca between 2002 and 2007. Manuel then attended KU Leuven for a Master in Laws (LL.M.) in International Law and Legal Studies from 2006 to 2007. In 2007, they obtained a Master en Asesoría Fiscal de Empresas (LL.M.) from IE Business School in International Business, Trade, and Tax Law. In 2012, they completed a Monográfico sobre valoración de empresas from CEF Centro de Estudios Financieros in Finanzas, general. In 2018, they attended Leiden University for a 2018 Latin America Executive Program in International Law. Additionally, they obtained a Lean Six Sigma White Belt from UCMI.
