Senior Software Engineer at WePay

Sarah Kaplan's work experience begins in 2012 when they worked as an English and Special Education Teacher for the Boston Public Schools. During their time there, they taught various courses, contributed to improvements in performance assessments, and collaborated with professors from UMass Boston on curriculum alignment and assessment methods.

In 2018, Sarah joined Faneron as a Software Engineering Intern. Sarah'sresponsibilities included contributing to the development of an e-commerce site called Lipslut and working with technologies like React, JavaScript, Gatsby.js, GraphQL, and Jest.

Later that year, they enrolled in Rithm School as a Software Engineering student. Over the course of a 17-week program, they gained expertise in React / Redux, Node / Express, Python / Flask, data structures, and algorithms. Sarah's team placed in the top 6 at the FreeCodeCamp JAMstack Hackathon and won the FormSpree API sponsor prize for their project VisiJAM, a survey and data visualization tool built using Gatsby.js, React, HighCharts, and FormSpree's API.

Since 2019, Sarah has been employed at WePay. Sarah initially joined as a Software Engineer and was later promoted to the position of Senior Software Engineer in September 2021.

Sarah Kaplan graduated from Northwestern University in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters. Sarah then pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Education from UMass Boston, completing their studies in 2012.
