Overview 

This position is for a Software Engineering Director.  In this role you will lead a team of talented software developers working on Solace’s Event Portal.

In This Role, You Will: 

• Lead and mentor a team of talented software developers & managers working on Pubsub+ Event Portal

• Develop and execute on strategies and methodologies to enhance team productivity & fostering a culture of innovation and creative problem-solving

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define roadmap, OKRs, project scope, requirements, and timelines

• Ensure alignment of development activities with product management, UX & collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

• Oversee planning and delivery of high-quality software solutions under the Solace SDLC and contribute to improving the SDLC by incorporating the industry trends and best practices

• Periodically review and report on team and project performance using established metrics

• Participate in architecture and design review

• Coach and mentor the next generation of leaders in the team

• Conduct high-value and frequent personal growth and performance reviews

• Proven experience as a director in a modern software development organization
• Strong background in continuous delivery to Cloud / SaaS offerings
• Familiarity with various software development methodologies and frameworks, including Agile
• Established history of advocacy for staff engagement and career growth
• Passionate about product quality and the strategies for continuous quality improvement
• Excited by, and eager to stay up to date with, complex technologies
• Familiar with DORA and the capabilities that enable elite-level software delivery performance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Java & JavaScript programming languages & technologies such as SpringBoot & React
• Familiar with Public APIs and API Management technologies and tools
• Familiar with Async APIs and Event Driven Architecture
