Jacob Beckerman-Hsu

Jacob Beckerman-Hsu is a Senior Research Associate at Westat, specializing in food and nutrition research since January 2024. Previously a Researcher II at Insight Policy Research from November 2020 to December 2023, Jacob contributed to various projects for the U.S. Jacob's academic journey includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Boston College School of Social Work, focusing on early childhood health disparities, and significant roles at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, including designing and evaluating obesity prevention programs. Jacob began an academic career at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and has experience as a high school science teacher with Teach For America. Jacob holds a PhD in nutrition and an SM in biostatistics from Harvard, an MPH from UCLA, and a BS in Biology from Georgetown University.
