Vimal Jain

Vimal Jain is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the field of storage firmware development and software engineering. Currently serving as Senior Director at Western Digital since July 2017, Vimal leads teams focused on product storage firmware development for USB, SD Express, and External SSDs, translating business requirements into engineering solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Manager at SanDisk®, where Vimal was part of the architecture team for removable storage products, and a Principal Engineer position at Broadcom, leading software development for 4G (LTE) PHY layer. Vimal's career began at Texas Instruments, where significant contributions were made in software development for DSP processors, and extensive expertise was built in signal processing algorithms. Vimal Jain holds an M.Tech. in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Raipur.
