Sam Obrien

Sam Obrien has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 1998, they worked at Network Solutions as a Senior Systems Analyst, where they reported system issues and implemented a reporting data mart. From 2002 to 2005, they worked at VERISIGN as a Database Engineer, managing enterprise data audits and creating customized reports. At Spectrum (formerly Time Warner Cable) from 2005 to 2017, they served as the Lead Technology QA Engineer, responsible for software testing and training. In 2017, Sam joined Equifax as the Lead Test Engineer, contributing to the design of the Insider Threat Program. Next, they worked at Moss Cape LLC as the Engineering Process Architect, focusing on software development strategies. Following that, at Vidoori Inc. from 2019 to 2020, they acted as the Systems and Integration QA Lead, providing advice and recommendations on software testing and integration. In 2021, Sam became the Senior Program Manager at Novant Health, working on the NH Connect Mobile App. In 2022, they joined MetroStar as an Agile Delivery Manager, managing teams responsible for automated data pipelines. Finally, in 2020, they joined WhirlWind Technologies, LLC as the Engineering Manager, overseeing the redesign of data ingest and storage capabilities for the US Census Bureau.

Sam Obrien has a Master's degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance, which was obtained from James Madison University from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, Sam also attended Georgetown University from 2003 to 2005, where they completed a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree. The field of study for this degree is not specified. Sam's Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health Information Systems-Environmental Biology was earned from James Madison University, and they attended from 1993 to 1997.

In addition to their formal education, Sam has obtained various certifications. They are a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) - MENA, which was obtained in July 2014. Sam is also a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) by Scrum Alliance, achieved in April 2020. They have further obtained the Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in November 2020.
