Paloma Thombley

Paloma Thombley currently serves as the Vice President of People Experience at the Wikimedia Foundation, overseeing global People Experience initiatives since September 2024. In addition, Paloma is an advisor at PeopleTech Partners and Handshake. Previously, as Chief Human Resources Officer at Handshake from June 2019 to January 2025, Paloma led the People and Talent functions, significantly scaling HR operations during a period of rapid growth. Other notable roles include Senior Director of People and Director of People at Nuna Inc., where Paloma was the first official HR hire and developed core HR processes, and various positions at Qualcomm and Scripps Institution of Oceanography, focusing on benefits management and recruitment respectively. Paloma earned a degree from UC San Diego and participated in education at World at Work.
