Sylvia Oliveira

Sylvia Oliveira began their work experience in 1992 as an Assistant Investment Policy Officer at John Hancock Life Insurance Company (U.S.A.). Sylvia then worked as an AVP and Life Actuary at Annuity & Life Re from 1999 to 2002. From 2003 to 2012, they held the role of SVP and Chief Actuary of ACE Tempest Life Reinsurance Ltd at Chubb. In 2011, they became the Chairperson of Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR), where they advocated for the life industry in Bermuda. Since 2012, they have served as the Chief Risk Officer and later became the Chief Executive Officer at Wilton Re Bermuda.

Sylvia Oliveira holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Magna Cum Laude degree in Mathematics from Boston University. Sylvia also has a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Mathematics from the same institution. Additionally, they obtained the certification of Fellow of the Society of Actuaries from the Society of Actuaries in 1999. Sylvia also possesses the Chartered Financial Analyst certification from the CFA Institute, although the specific year of obtaining this certification is not provided.
