Derek Robinette

Derek Robinette has extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Derek is currently working as a Principal Technical Artist at Wimo Games, Inc. since February 2021. Previously, Derek held the same position at KingsIsle Entertainment from March 2012 to February 2021. Derek also worked as a Senior Technical Artist at Vigil Games from March 2008 to February 2012. Prior to that, Derek worked as a VFX/Technical Artist at Edge of Reality from October 2007 to March 2008 and as a Technical Artist at XL Games from November 2005 to October 2007. Derek started their career as a Contract Artist and then worked as a Character Artist, Technical Artist, and FX Artist at Edge of Reality from February 2001 to March 2005. Derek also has experience as a Senior Artist and Lead Cinematic Artist at Acclaim Studios Austin from 1995 to 2000, as well as a Lead Character Artist at Iguana Entertainment during the same time period.

Derek Robinette began their education at Minneapolis North Community High School, where they pursued traditional art from 1989 to 1993. Following this, they attended the School of Communication Arts Minneapolis from 1993 to 1994, earning a certification in Computer Art and Animation.
