Carlos Sanchez

Carlos Sanchez is the founder and CEO of Wiserentr. Carlos has over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, including positions at Aplazame, the Payment Systems Regulator, and ipagoo.

Sanchez began their career in banking, before moving into payments and digital banking. Carlos was the CEO of ipagoo, a pan-European digital bank, for eight years. While at ipagoo, Sanchez oversaw the development of new products and services, as well as the expansion of the company into new markets.

In 2015, Sanchez joined the Payment Systems Regulator, an expert group formed by the UK payments regulator to define the UK payments strategy. Carlos served on the group for two years before moving to Aplazame, where they were CEO for six months.

Sanchez is a thought leader in the payments industry, and is passionate about making digital payments more accessible and inclusive. Carlos is a member of several industry groups and committees, and is a frequent speaker at conferences and events.

Carlos Sanchez has an MBA in finance from IMD and an engineering degree in telecommunications from Universidade de Vigo.
