Florent Empis

Florent Empis has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Florent is currently working as the Engineering Lead at WOOP, where they manage the development, test, and support teams of a SaaS Provider. Florent leads a team of 30 people and is responsible for the growth of the team to 60 FTE by Q4 2023.

Prior to their current role, Florent worked as a Product Manager - Data Management at Quod Financial, where they guided the team in applying innovative methods to connect investment banking and stock exchanges. Florent focused on data manipulation at a microsecond scale using technologies such as Kafka, ClickHouse, and various ML libraries.

Before that, Florent served as the Head of Product Teams / Digital Domain Leader Customer Delivery at ADEO Services. Florent also worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Meelo and served as the VP Data, CRM, and Tooling at Scaleway.

Florent has co-founded and been the CTO of Nuukik, a software provider for retail marketing, where they utilized big data and statistical engineering to personalize the consumer/retailer relationship. Florent was responsible for R&D and collaborated with world-class researchers and European retailers. Florent also served as the CEO of the company, managing investor relationships and strategical partnerships.

Additionally, Florent has worked as a part-time teacher at Ecole Centrale de Lille and the University of Lille 1, teaching IT/CS and information security courses.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a Software Architect at IMMOCHAN and Pictime, where they also served as a Project Manager.

Florent Empis attended Centrale Lille from 1999 to 2005, where they obtained a Diplôme d'ingénieur (eq Master in Sciences) in Software/Electrical Engineering. In addition, they have obtained two certifications in August 2022, namely "Building a Product from Scratch" and "Product Management: Building a Product Roadmap," from LinkedIn.
