Anna Smets has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Anna started their career in 1986 at Europ Assistance, where they served as a Chargée d'assistance-bijstandsverlener and later became a Teamleader in the Medical Department. In 1992, they joined Sunair - Sun International as a Contracts Manager for Self Drive Holidays, where they negotiated hotel contracts in France and was responsible for brochure writing and pricing calculations. Anna then moved on to Thomas Cook Group plc in 1997 as an International Senior Contracts Manager, a role they held for over a decade. In 2009, Anna worked at Caractère as a Product & Contracting Manager, where they developed product lines, contracted hotels and services, and played a key role in the startup of a new destination. Anna briefly managed In Between Jobs from 2008 to 2009 before joining Nieuwen Bosch Humaniora as an English Language Teacher for a few months in 2010. Anna then worked at Europ Assistance as a Resource Coordinator from January to June 2011 before transitioning to AXA Partners, where they served as a Business Development Manager from June 2011 to May 2018. Currently, Anna is the Director of Business Solutions at Workplace Options, where they focus on empowering employees to achieve work-life balance and productivity.

Anna Smets completed their Master's degree in Translation-Interpretation Dutch-French-English from Vlekho Brussels, from 1982 to 1988. Anna then pursued their high school education at Sint Norbertus Instituut, Duffel, specializing in Latin & Greek, from 1976 to 1982. Later, in the year 2010 to 2012, Anna Smets obtained a certification in Chef & Caterer from Syntra. In addition to their educational background, Anna Smets also received a certification as a LinkedIn Sales Navigator Trainer from LinkedIn in April 2016.
