Samir Sukhtankar has a strong background in the energy and petrochemical industries with extensive experience in various roles and responsibilities.
Samir began their career at Vinati Organics Limited as a Shift Engineer, supervising shift production and managing plant operations.
Samir then joined Chiplun Fine Chemicals Ltd. as a Production Executive, where they monitored plant performance, resolved process problems, and supervised equipment installation.
After that, they worked at Shree Siddhi Industries as a Technical Partner, overseeing production of pharmaceutical intermediates and laboratory chemicals, planning production schedules, and maintaining standard operating procedures.
Samir then transitioned to Somerset Refinery, where they served as a Process Engineer. In this role, they troubleshooted and improved the performance of various units, implemented process upgrades and provided training to plant operations.
Samir continued their career at Paramount Petroleum Paramount Asphalt as a Process Engineer, responsible for providing process engineering support and advice to various departments and stakeholders.
Samir then moved on to Alon USA, where they held the position of Operations Superintendent. Samir was responsible for overseeing multiple refining units and supervising operators, as well as addressing personnel and disciplinary issues.
Next, they joined Calumet Specialty Products Partners, L.P. as a Technical Services Manager. In this role, they managed the Technical Department's functional areas and implemented performance improvement programs.
Most recently, Samir joined World Energy, LLC as the Director of Operations. Samir also held roles as Project Engineering Manager and Sr. Process Engineer during their time with the company.
Throughout their career, Samir has demonstrated expertise in operations management, process engineering, and personnel leadership.
Samir Sukhtankar pursued their education at the Maharashtra Institute of Technology from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering. Following this, they attended the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2001 to 2003, earning a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
