Frank Harrison has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Frank began their career as a Field Services Officer for the United Nations in 1999. Frank then worked as an Investigator for the Department of National Defence from 2000 to 2002. In 2003, they gained oil sands mining experience. From 2005 to 2006, Frank served as a Security Manager at the United States Embassy Complex in Baghdad.
In 2006, they started working for Insight International as a Security, Emergency Management & Policy Advisor, providing consultation and contracting services to international and Canadian organizations. Frank held this position until 2021.
Frank joined Agnico Eagle Mines Limited in 2018 as a Security Team Lead and later served as Deputy Head of the Security Department at Somincor - Lundin Mining from 2019 to 2020.
In 2017, they became an Online Course Moderator for The Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace and Security, where they moderated an online learning environment for a course on children and youth recruited and used in violence.
Most recently, Frank became the Regional Security Director Americas at World Travel Protection in February 2021. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in security, safety, emergency management, and policy development, working in high-risk and hostile environments.
Frank Harrison has a diverse education history. Frank obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in Human Security and Peacebuilding from Royal Roads University in 2016. In 2017, they completed a Certificate in Veteran Trainers to Eradicate the Use of Child Soldiers from Dalhousie University. Additionally, Frank has undergone various training programs and courses, including the US Embassy Security Supervisor Program from the United States Department of State in 2005, Mine Operations Co-op from Keyano College in 2003, and the Law Enforcement & Physical Security Program from the Canadian Forces Military Police Academy. Frank also has certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS International (in progress), Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (C.P.T.E.D) Level 1 from C.P.T.E.D Professional Training Centre, Mental Health First Aid from the Mental Health Commission of Canada, and Dräger BG4 (CCBA) Level ll Technician for Dräger closed circuit respiratory devices and breathing protection masks from Dräger Canada. Additionally, Frank has completed training in open-sourced intelligence and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Level 2. In 2021, they attended the Dalhousie University College of Continuing Education. Furthermore, they hold additional certifications such as Challenge Learning Journey from Zurich North America and A.L.I.V.E. Train the Trainer Instructor Course and Surviving an Active Shooter Using ALIVE from ALIVE Active Shooter Survival Training.
