Gladys Yam

Gladys Yam has over 20 years of work experience in finance and accounting. Gladys is currently the Director of Finance & Planning at World Vision Canada since March 2021. Previously, they worked as the Director of Finance at The Institute for College Access & Success from January 2019 to March 2021. In this role, they were responsible for financial oversight, regulatory filings, payroll, and annual budget. Prior to that, they were the Associate Director of Finance at Jobs for the Future from January 2015 to January 2019. Gladys managed the revenue portfolio of grants and contracts and provided financial advice to the CFO. Before that, they worked as a Senior Accountant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from August 2013 to January 2015, where they represented the school in finance conversion projects and analyzed financial positions. Gladys also worked as the Grants and Budget Manager at Jobs for the Future from June 2011 to August 2013, overseeing grants and contracts and advising the CFO. Earlier in their career, they worked at EY, where they held roles such as Senior Manager and Audit Manager, gaining expertise in technical accounting analysis and leading audit engagements in various industries.

Gladys Yam holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Accounting from the University of Waterloo, which they obtained from 1998 to 2002. Gladys then pursued a Masters of Accounting degree from the same university from 2002 to 2003. Later, they attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education from 2010 to 2011, where they earned an Ed.M. degree in Higher Education Administration, Learning & Teaching. Additionally, Gladys Yam has obtained certifications in Data Visualization with Tableau Specialization from Coursera and holds the CA CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation from CPA Ontario. Gladys is also a Certified Public Accountant in Delaware.
