Allyson Puzzo, LMHC has a diverse work experience in the mental health field. Allyson began their career as a Behavioral Specialist/Psychologist at PSCH in 2008, where they facilitated staff development seminars and conducted staff conflict resolution interventions. In 2012, they became a Program Supervisor at the Women's Prison Association, providing supportive and administrative supervision to case planners. Allyson then transitioned to the role of Mental Health Consultant at Lutheran Social Services of New York in 2013, where they provided indirect mental health consultations to children and advised on program policy. In 2014, Allyson became the Mental Health Director at Lutheran Social Services of New York, taking on additional responsibilities of clinically supervising Master level interns and providing weekly group supervision. Allyson also held the position of Director of Psychological Outreach at the US Navy in 2014-2015. From 2015 to 2017, they served as a Clinical Care Support Advisor for Wounded Warrior Battalion West in the United States Marine Corps, providing clinical training, consultations, and developing therapeutic programming proposals. Most recently, Allyson worked as a Behavioral Health Staff at MCCS from 2017 to 2021, providing psychological and educational support to new parents and referring clients to appropriate services. Currently, they are employed as a Mental Health Specialist at the Wounded Warrior Project, screening and assessing veterans and facilitating mental health workshops.
Allyson Puzzo, LMHC, completed their education in a chronological sequence. Allyson first obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Criminal Justice / Psychology from Temple University, studying from 2003 to 2006. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College (CUNY), from 2006 to 2007. Subsequently, they furthered their education at John Jay College (CUNY), obtaining another Master of Arts (M.A.) degree, this time in Mental Health Counseling/Counselor, during the academic year 2008 to 2009.
