Visak C.V. Kumar has a diverse work experience in research and development roles. Visak started their career as a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Science from October 2013 to July 2014. Visak then worked as a Lab Associate at Disney Research for a brief period in May 2017. From August 2017 to September 2021, Visak served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology. During this time, they also interned as a Research Intern at NVIDIA from May 2019 to August 2021. Currently, Visak is working as a Research Scientist at Woven Planet, starting from May 2022.

Visak C.V.Kumar pursued their education in the field of Robotics and Mechanical Engineering. Visak began their academic journey at M.S.Ramaiah Institute of Technology, where they obtained an Engineer's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2009 to 2013. Visak then furthered their studies at the University of Washington, where they pursued a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2014 to 2016. Finally, they attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Robotics from 2016 to 2021.
