Galean Stewart

Galean Stewart has extensive experience in the news industry, starting as a Bank Teller/Customer Service Representative at Deposit Guaranty National Bank in 1996. They then worked as a Flight Attendant at Atlantic Southeast Airlines before transitioning into the news field. At WJTV, they served as an Associate News Producer from 2001 to 2004. They joined WLBT in 2004, where they held roles as a News Producer and later as an Executive Producer until 2017. During their time at WLBT, they also participated in the Raycom Media Leadership Program. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Belhaven University. In 2017, they became the News Director at Gray Television, a position they held until March 2021. Currently, they are the Assistant News Director at WPTV, starting in March 2021. Stewart also taught as an Adjunct Professor at Jackson State University from 2016 onwards.

Galean Stewart earned a Bachelor of Arts - BA degree in Communication from Belhaven University between 1999 and 2001. Later, between 2010 and 2012, Galean furthered their education and obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration from the same university.
