Emile Chappin is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as the Head of the Energy & Industry Group at Delft University of Technology since February 2007, where roles also include Associate Professor and Scientific Co-Director of the TPM Energy Transition Lab. Chappin has extensive experience in modeling and simulating energy infrastructures, having progressed from a PhD researcher to a postdoctoral role prior to current positions. In addition to academic roles, Chappin is a Senior Research Fellow at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, focusing on agent-based modeling and decarbonization in the power sector. As the founder and chair of the theaterorkest.nl foundation, Chappin organizes orchestras for theater productions, while previous musical contributions include roles as a pianist and alternate conductor in various musical groups. Emile Chappin holds both MSc and BSc degrees in Systems Engineering, Policy Analysis, and Management from Delft University of Technology.
